The beauty of private music instruction is that lessons are tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Although lessons are different for each student, certain fundamentals are the same. Each student will have the opportunity to focus on healthy breathing, vocal technique, diction, ear training, and reading notation. In addition to these things, theory and history will also be incorporated into lessons.

Lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis for 30 minutes. Following an initial consultation, vocalizes, warm-ups, exercises and repertoire are chosen based on voice type and skill level. Regular practice outside of lessons is imperative for success in reaching the goals we outline together during the first few weeks. Goals will be reviewed and assessed several times a year.

Each student has the opportunity to perform at the annual recital, which has become a fun tradition! This is a great way to gain experience performing and to share your love of singing with family and friends.

My goal is to keep a high standard of excellence for a well rounded music education, while keeping individual goals and desires in mind.
